Let me start off by saying, I am convinced that kindness is the greatest possession than wealth or popularity. We’re now on day 50 of the national lockdown, due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. And for the past seven weeks I have been hosting iconic deejays from home for my Legend live by Oskido streaming sessions. Most of these deejays are my friends and colleagues. But I have also invited some of the most sort-after younger deejays; these are the next generations who are going to take us into the next phase.
Let me not digress; let me jump straight into the reason why decided on this subject. When I first conceptualised LEGEND LIVE by Oskido ,was to find a way to archive our music heritage. But COVID-19 presented me and my team with an opportunity to give back to those that are struggling with feeding themselves during this time. So we have used these music sessions to raise funds for various charities. And this has given more purpose than just being an artist and a businessperson.
This has reminded me what an amazing nation we can be if we pull together. A lot of you opened your hearts and gave beyond my expectation. And l will forever be grateful to you for your kindness. You have inspired me and revived my believe in our collective humanity, Ubuntu. It warms my heart knowing that, together, we have managed to feed hundreds of people who otherwise would be going to bed without food. May God bless you, and your families for all the donations. Nakusasa ninga dinwa. Thank you!
